Chapter 9 Introduction

Chapter 9: The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution occurred in England in the 18th century, and soon spread throughout the rest of the world. During this time people made the transition from making goods by hand, which took many hours to complete the smallest job, to the mass production of goods by machine. This shift caused the economy and population to boom. Cities were crowded, populations of some areas tripling, even quadrupling. Factories became very popular resulting in the wealth of factory owners to grow. The wealthy factory owners, merchants, and shippers led to the emerging of the middle class. By using the blog I hope to be able to keep up with assignments and work at my own pace. I feel that using this as a tool will help me to be more organized.
